The Brooklyn was a railroad-transfer tug. It was built for the New York Dock Co. and spent its entire 50-year career shuttling barges loaded with railroad cars back and forth across New York Harbor. For her entire lifetime, she retained her steam power plant throughout her working career and was sold for scrap in 1960.
